I'm Andrew Montanus of iLumen8 Photography. I specialize in stills, video and aerial photography for real estate, interior design and architecture and commercial clients. My mission is to help agents, designers, builders and business owners use imaging to effectively promote their services and products. I partner with my clients to build long-lasting and mutually beneficial relationships. I do so by being focused on client success, by being dependable and responsive and by making sure the client is satisfied with my work.
I use modern high quality cameras, lenses and drones to deliver high quality images and video. For real estate photography, my mission is to capture accurate yet alluring images that highlight the best qualities of the property, but do so in an honest and accurate manner. I have the ability to deliver up to 187 megapixel images for use in larger print or electronic applications. I am a licensed sUAS pilot under FAA Part 107 and deliver both high quality aerial images and video. My work will conform to standards of best practice for real estate and architectural photography by exhibiting proper geometry and alignment, accurate color representation and proper lighting and exposure. I use various photographic and processing techniques to deliver images that recreate what the human eye sees as closely as possible including exposure blending and, in some cases, HDR photography. I access a suite of software for post processing including Adobe Lightroom, Photoshop, Aurora HDR and Luminar 4 in order to insure the images are accurate, well exposed and free from unwanted artifacts.
I have lived in Cary, North Carolina since 2001 with my wife and two daughters. I moved here from Chicago, but I am originally from Phoenix, Arizona. I previously worked for 28 years in investment management. I hold a B.S. in Finance from the University of Illinois at Chicago and an M.B.A. in Analytic Finance from the University of Chicago. Before college I served in the U.S. Army's 3rd Infantry Regiment.
